If your gate is opening or closing incorrectly, the steps below will allow you to check for any possible causes and help you find a solution.
Possible Causes
1. Incorrect bracket mounting positions
2. Incorrect mounting procedure
3. Damaged limit switch or loose wiring connection
4. Loos wiring connections
5. Photocell issue (if fitted)
6. Damaged control board
1. Check your post bracket mounting positions and critical distances in the chart below
- These measurements are critical for correct movement and is a common cause of movement issues
- Remove the arm from the gate and operate to see if the arm extends and retracts correctly
2. Check that the correct mounting process was followed *example below is for a push to open gate
- Open the gate to your preferred open position
- Make sure the arm is full retracted and bracket mountings are correct (see step 1)
- Attach the gate bracket where the arm meets the gate
3. Check the limit switches underneath the arm for any visible damage
- Remove the screw if necessary, as there may be cracks or splits underneath
4. Check the control board for any loose wiring connections
5. If NO photocell is fitted check the control board and ensure dip switch 3 is Off
- If a photocell IS fitted, check that dip switch 3 is ON, the beam is correctly aligned and not blocked by any part of the gate during its opening/closing cycle.
- If you believe the photocell may be causing an issue, remove the photocell, put dip switch 3 into the OFF position and try to open/close the gate again.
6. Check the PC Control Board for any obvious signs of damage
