Issues with remote pairing and operation. | ||
Remote control does not work. | Remote control battery is flat. |
Check the LED light on the remote. Replace the battery if necessary. |
Remote control is not paired correctly. | Pair the remotes to the control board. | |
An incorrect remote control is being used. | Only Richmond genuine remotes will work with this system. | |
Issues with loss of power. | ||
The gate will not move at all. No lights on the PC board |
Power is turned off or disconnected. |
Check the power point is turned on. Visually check the connection between the batteries and the PC board. |
Fuse has blown. | Disconnect the power and check the fuse. | |
Batteries are flat. | Check battery voltages. At least 12.4v each. Check the charging circuit. | |
PC board has suffered damage. | Do a visual check for any damage or ‘burnt’ smell coming from the PC board. | |
Issues with movement, or loss of movement. | ||
Gate will open correctly, but will not close at all. |
Force dial setting is too low. | Increase the ‘FORCE’ dial clockwise to maximum. |
Limit switch ‘A’ has been damaged. | Check the limit switches underneath the arm for any sign of physical damage. Check underneath the arm for any split/damaged limit switches. |

Photocell is NOT fitted but setting is switched on. | Turn dip switch #3 off (DOWN) if no photocell is fitted. | |
Photocell is fitted and has detected an obstruction. | Check for obstructions, dirty lens or photocell alignment. | |
Gate arm is over-extended and won’t retract. | Detach from the gate and turn the extension clockwise back into the housing. | |
Gate will operate, but not open and close all the way. | Force dial setting is too low. | Increase the ‘FORCE’ dial to maximum. |
Arm mounting position is incorrect. |
Check the mounting position against the minimum measurements chart. Check the angle of operation in both the OPEN and CLOSED positions. |

Gate will open and close, but stops or reverses part way. |
An obstruction has been detected. |
Gate should move freely in manual mode. Check all moving parts for binding/sticking. |
Gate is opening or closing too far. | Check that the gate does not open or close against a post or stopper. | |
Gate automatically closes, after a short delay. |
Auto-close has been turned on. | Check dip switch 2 for auto-close. |
